Our Commitment to Data Privacy

We take the privacy and security of alumni data seriously. This document outlines how Spark Plug LLC collects, stores, uses, and deletes data shared as part of a pilot engagement.

This applies to any institution participating in a Spark Plug pilot or demo using the Alumni Activator System.

What Data We Collect

We only request data necessary to run your pilot effectively. This typically includes:

  • First and last name

  • Email address

  • Graduation year

  • Degree or major (optional)

  • Engagement history (events, giving, volunteerism)

  • Public job data (e.g., LinkedIn updates)

We do not require sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, addresses, or full donor histories.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

  • Score alumni engagement potential

  • Generate sample outreach suggestions

  • Deliver dashboards and recommendations

  • Track pilot-level engagement outcomes

Your data will never be:

  • Sold

  • Shared with third parties

  • Used beyond the scope of your engagement without written consent

How We Store and Secure Your Data

  • All files are uploaded via secure links (e.g., Dropbox or Google Forms)

  • Files are stored in private, access-controlled folders

  • Data is encrypted in transit and at rest via our storage providers

  • Access is limited to Spark Plug staff supporting your pilot

Data Retention and Deletion

  • Files are automatically deleted within 30 days of the pilot end date, unless otherwise requested in writing.

  • Institutions may request early deletion or extensions.

Optional Agreements

We are happy to:

  • Sign your institutionโ€™s NDA or data use agreement

  • Provide a signed version of this policy upon request
